Kristen Anne Bell was born in 1980 and is an American actress and singer. Bell is a Michigan native born and was raised by her parents Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). Kristen is from Polish origin (mother) in addition to German, English and Scottish (father). Kristen realized her potential within the industry of entertainment in her early years. She was cast in the role of Raggedy Ann in 1992 after having attended her first audition. Bell's mom introduced her to an agent before she was 13, and she was cast for television and newspaper commercials. She also started taking private acting classes around that time. Bell played an uncredited character in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School where she was involved in music and drama clubs. She was a part of Dorothy in the high-school production in The Wizard of Oz. Bell attended The Tisch School of the Arts where she studied Musical Theater in New York City. Bell graduated from her college in 2001 after she was cast in the role Becky to play Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also that Bell's first appearance in a movie that had been credited, Pootie Tang (2002). The scene she appeared in was cut and only the credits display her. Bell made an appearance alongside Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
