Audra's versatility and breadth as an artist is unparalleled. She has won seven Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, and an Emmy Award. Record-breaking six times recipient at her Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards in addition to the Emmy Award she received in the year 2015 by Barack Obama. The following year, she received her first Emmy nomination in recognition of her performance in the HBO film version of the Pulitzer Prize winning play Wit produced by Mike Nichols and starring Emma Thompson McDonald returned to television networks in 2003 with the drama about politics Mister Sterling, produced by Emmy Award winner Lawrence O'Donnell Jr. and with Josh Brolin. Beginning in 2006, she was part of the crew of The Bedford Diaries on the WB. The Bedford Diaries and over the following season, she played a recurring role on NBC's television series Kidnapped. McDonald was awarded a fourth Emmy nomination for her part in the HBO film special Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill in 2016. The Bite is a drama featuring six episodes that are based on the pandemic that was co-produced with Spectrum Originals & CBS Studios. She appeared in the show with Taylor Schilling & Steven Pasquale. McDonald played U.S. prosecutor Liz Lawrence who she played in CBS's The Good Wife legal drama in the year 2009. It was her turn to reprise the role in the year 2018, playing an episode the regular Liz Reddick in Paramount+'s The Good Fight. For the role she played, McDonald received three Critics Choice Award nominations. She's currently appearing as an actor in Julian Fellowes' period drama The Gilded Age.
